EMARI Region 2010 Fall Elections - (May 2010)
This fall, the EMARI Region will be holding elections for the following positions:
- Region Director
- Chris Pringle, candidate for election - more info
- John Caron, candidate for election - more info
- Assistant Region Director (we used to call them section chiefs)
- Tim Breen, candidate for election - more info
- Carol Parrella, candidate for election - more info
- Richard Stakutis, candidate for election - more info
Additionally an Assistant Region Director (to replace Regional Director Chris Pringle) will be chosen by the Patrol Directors from the pool of available candidates by May 31st 2010 as per EMARI bylaws.
The Region Director election will take place at the individual patrol fall refreshers during the fall of 2010. EMARI and Division bylaws require an election for Regional Director this fall due to the RD vacancy as John Shipman was elected Eastern Division Director.
The five person EMARI Election Committee is looking for eligible candidates for both the Regional Director and the two Assistant Regional director positions. To be eligible a candidates for both Regional Director and the two Assistant Regional Directors must be active registered senior patrollers of Alpine, Nordic, or Certified status (Auxillary can be eligible too see Eastern Division bylaws at http://www.nspeast.org/electiondocs/ ), with at least 5 seasons of patrolling experience.
If you are interested in running for these open positions, please submit your Bio and Platform Statement no later than August 1, 2009 to Mike Seward (chairperson EMARI election committee) send email or snail mail at 41 Northlake Dr Barrington, RI 02806. Please review the EMARI Region’s by-laws if you have questions about qualifications and terms of office. Submissions for the Regional Director position and the second Assistant Regional Director position will be posted on the EMARI Region website by September 1, 2009 so the region’s patrollers can review them. Submissions received after August 1, 2009 will be held for the next election in fall of 2011 (for ARD) or in the fall of 2011 (for RD).
