EMARI Weekend (March 13 & 14 2010)
Black Mountain, NH
Twenty eight ski patrollers and 36 family members participated in the annual EMARI ski weekend at Black Mountain in Jackson, NH. The skiing on Saturday 3/13 was great with sunny skies and plenty of snow that softened up as the day progressed to offer fantastic mogul skiing. The gracious staff headed by PD Dave Aibel organized a challenging toboggan race that was won by the Wachusetts entry (can’t dig up the names). We got together for drinks and pizza later in the lodge and again the staff of Black Mountain wowed us with prizes for race winners and runner ups. The precipitation that had been predicted for Sunday was rain in North Conway, but on the top of the mountain they got an additional 10 inches of snow. I for one headed south at the site of rain but we did get one great day of late winter skiing in on Saturday, thanks to the Black Mountain Ski Patrol for graciously hosting us again this year!
