To assist patrollers prepare for the evaluation, 14 clinics were scheduled in the region. It is only with the support of the trainers that we are able to accommodate so many different clinic days and times. It’s been a while since we have recognized our trainers on the website so here is the list of T/E’s for this season: Steve Arndt, Janet Arndt, John Caron, Bill Devarney, Norm Doherty, Kim Fletcher, Michelle Goldsmith, Deb Foss, Joe Greenwood, Dave Hemindinger, Gordon Hughes, Jenn Laitala, Michelle Landry, Ed McNamara, Edee McNamara, Alice Painter, John Shipman, Jim Slattery, Dave Walker, and Jane Williams. Thanks to all of them for their dedication to the program.
We were fortunate to have 4 ski areas’ welcome us for clinics. Thank you to Blue Hills, Nashoba Valley, Ski Ward, and Wachusett Mountain. Again this year, Wachusett Mountain was host to the evaluation. With almost 50 people involved in this year’s evaluation, the accommodations provided were greatly appreciated
Equipment this year is in good shape. Dick Schreiner from Wachusett Mountain repaired several HARE tractions that were showing signs of wear. Also, Wachusett Mountain has changed to new backboards, so they donated a few of their older ones to the region.
I have notified the Division Supervisor that this has been my last year as the Senior EMM Training Coordinator. It’s time to move along and give someone else the opportunity to provide their leadership to the program. Ihave been very fortunate to have had the help and support of so many people; unfortunately too many to try to mention them here. Thank you all. I look forward to working with you again next year as we support the new STC and a new group of eager SEMM candidates.
