Seminar: Begin at 8:30 AM at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, 72 Lyme Road, Hanover, New Hampshire. More information is at www.crrel.usace.army.mil/crrel/contactus.html. No pets, children, or non-participants are permitted in CRREL facilities.
Manuals: An NSP MTR manual is included in the cost of this course (see below) and will be mailed directly to your home. In order to receive a manual, you need to register and pay for the course. (See below)
The laboratory will provide a brief orientation on where it fits in the scheme of things as well as what it does for both the U.S. Army and the Corps of Engineers. We plan on two CRREL speakers that will cover recent research on snow sciences.
Two other speakers are being sought, one from the U.S. Army Research Institute for Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) and one from the Soldier Systems Commands' Natick Research Laboratory at Natick, MA. The very draft agenda is attached.
Banquet: Our banquet social hour will take place in the Hotel Coolidge starting at 6:00 PM with a cash bar. The hotel will provide a variety of snacks. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM. A green salad and fresh baked rolls will be served at the table.

On-snow Experiential Learning: All attendees that have a current NSPS registration card will be eligible for the industrial rate to ski at Killington Resort, 4763 Killington Road, Killington, Vermont on Sunday, March 28th. More information is at www.killington.com/winter/index.html. We hope to be able to obtain free skiing for current NSP members. If not, the current industrial rate is $21. (Retail is $82.00)
To get to the Hotel Coolidge from the West: take the Northway to exit 20, as you come off the ramp turn left on Route 9 for .7 mi and turn right on Route 149 to Fort Anne. At the traffic light turn left on Route 4 and stay on Route 4 all the way to White River Junction, Vermont. When you come to the intersection with Route 5, you will see the 25,000 Gifts Shop opposite the intersection, turn left on Route 5, and stay in the right lane thru a set of lights; stay in the right lane downhill to a stop sign, then proceed straight thru the intersection. You will see the Polka Dot Diner on the left, stay right around the corner, go 100 yards, and the Hotel Coolidge is on the right. Maps will be available at the Hotel Coolidge that provide directions to CRREL.
