| 2007 Instructor Refresher
The 2007-2008 EMARI Instructor Refresher was held this year at the American Red Cross facility in Worcester, MA on Saturday, September 8th. I want to thank Janet Reed for her help to procure the facility for this event; it was a beautiful location and a perfect day though very hot. I would also like to thank the entire IT team for their hard work and dedication; Sheila Daly; Dave Walker; Chris Fletcher; Deb Foss; Joe Greenwood; Michelle Esposito; Dave Polsey; Edee McNamara; Gail Riley; Janet Read; Scott Crofts; John Shipman; and Bill Devarney.
The Instructor Refresher went smoothly and many participants commented on the high-level of presentations, the innovative teaching methods applied, and of course, the hands on practicals. 52 instructors where refreshed and re-certified, some comments from the evaluations:
- Very well organized, good presentations
- Great MCI drill
- Really liked the blind assessment
- BB station was very good
- The hands on was great
- Loved the trauma station
- Great use of the kids as patients
- Great moving through as groups
- Assessment station was remarkable
- Excellent job.!!!!
2006 - 2007 Regional OEC Goals
- Enhance the Instructor Refresher to be efficient, innovative, and rewarding
- Help to enhance the Senior EMM program
- Enhance the Mentoring and Instructor Program
- Update QA and Evals on Instructors
- Develop and deploy an OEC Enhancement Seminar – To Be Scheduled for January, 2008
- Promote the Senior EMM Program and Senior S&T Program
- Develop instructor aids for all instructors
- Attend as many refreshers as possible in the EMARI region
- Create a mentor and support program for the regions Instructor Trainers
- Enhance all other OEC programs and make them FUN.!
