We made a few changes in our scheduling of clinics last year that seemed to work out well for both candidates and evaluators. Based on positive feedback I have proposed the schedule this year to once again include 3 different training sites, varying day/nights of the week, and a few 4-5 hour clinics on weekends. We will also take a break from clinics around Christmas/New Year’s so that everyone gets some free time to enjoy the holidays. Please note that the schedule is being listed as proposed. Last year we found it useful to see what locations and schedules were easiest for the candidates and trainers and made adjustments based on that feedback.
The regional training team welcomes 6 new SEMM Trainer/Evaluators’s. Janet Arndt, Gordon Hughes, Michelle Landry, Alice Painter, Janet Read, and Jane Williams were all successful at the May T/E class. I appreciate their willingness to make this commitment to training fellow patrollers in our region.
The EMARI region had 9 patrollers successfully complete the Senior Emergency Management Module during the 2008-2009 ski season. Congratulations to:
- Win Bach – Wachusett Mountain
- David Catinella – Blue Hills
- John Meader – Wachusett Mountain
- Alice Painter – Ski Ward
- Janet Read – Ski Ward
- Michael Spector – Blue Hills
- Kim Sullivan – Wachusett Mountain
- Joel Swenson – Wachusett Mountain
- Josh Tamulen – Wachusett Mountain
My sincere thanks to everyone who helped support the Senior EMM program especially the T/E’s who give so much of their time and talent.
